How does the Laser work?
The PinPointe FootLaser kills the fungus that lives in and under the toenail. The Laser light passes through the toenail without casing damage to the nail or the surrounding skin.
Is the procedure painful?
Most people feel no pain. Some people feel a warming sensation.
Is there a recovery period?
No, you can walk out just as you walked in. There is no down time or any need to stay off your feet.
How long does the procedure take?
The FootLaser procedure takes about 30 minutes depending on number of toes treated.
How many treatments are necessary?
The fungus is usually killed after one treatment. There is a chance of reinfection because the fungus is present everywhere in the environment. A second treatment may be necessary. At the time of the procedure, the toenail will not become instantly clear, it takes approximately 6 to 9 months to grow out. Visible improvement should be noticed in 3 months.
When can I paint my nails or have a pedicure?
You can apply polish immediately after the treatment. It is important to remove all nail polish and any nail decorations the day before your treatment.
Is this covered by my insurance?
This procedure is considered aesthetic and therefore health insurance plans do not provide coverage
